Rejuvenate your heart
If you look at your life and realise that you've been the same person for the last 10, 15, or even 20 years, ask yourself: Why?
Without realising it, your heart might be dying. It's disconnecting from its purpose due to lack of growth. When growth stops, decline begins. And when the heart is no longer alive, it becomes numb, distracted, and hollow.
A lifeless heart cannot grow. As human beings, we have a fundamental need for growth. It contributes to a fulfilling and meaningful life. It fosters happiness, success, and well-being. Stagnation is destructive; if you’re not moving forward, then you’re moving backward.
Hajj is a catalyst. A rejuvenation. Iman on steroids. It is a rare opportunity to bring the dying heart back to life again.
The Possibility in Hajj Is Enormous
What you can achieve in five days of Hajj is mind-boggling. It’s intensive, but the purpose of Hajj is not to live like that every single day for the rest of your life. That level of devotion is a peak, not a plateau.
It’s a spiritual mountaintop from which you descend, but you descend changed. Hajj serves as a reminder of what’s possible. It shows you that there is always room to do more, grow more, and achieve more.
Change Begins with Commitment
Hajj teaches us that for a person to become better, they must be willing to change.
“And that each person will have only what they endeavoured towards.” (53:39)
If you strive for it, you will find it.
So, ask yourself: Who do I want to become after Hajj?
Take some time to reflect and then write it down, but don’t overwhelm yourself with a long checklist. Instead:
Choose 3 to 4 character goals you want to grow into.
Choose 1 or 2 traits or habits you want to let go of.
Commit to these goals sincerely. That alone is enough for a meaningful transformation. Whether you see the results immediately or not. The seeds will be planted. They will be ready to grow as you continue your journey of self-development after Hajj.
Reflection Is Critical
Hajj without reflection is just movement. Hajj with reflection is transformation.
Don’t limit your potential by drifting through Hajj without awareness.
Have the discipline to remain reflective and conscious about what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and what it means for your future.
This is the only way to return from Hajj with a heart that’s clean, alive, and ready to embrace a new you.
